The Scarey Man® was invented by a Cambridgeshire village farmer back in 1984. Having seen the effect a plastic sack, blowing around a garden, had on the birds, he wondered if the same 'inflatable shock system' could be applied to keeping pigeons and crows off his crops.
During the following weeks, prototype systems were tested, culminating in the birth of The Scarey Man® scarecrow. The rest is history. The Scarey Man® has evolved over the past 30 years and is still solely manufactured in Cambridgeshire.
He is firmly established as a leading deterrent for a wide range of birds and other predators. The Scarey Man® has attracted world-wide attention, has been the subject of much TV and newspaper coverage, and has many satisfied owners both in the UK and around the world.
